Our quilted crib mattress pad is made with a surface layer of 100% organically-grow Cotton with an allergy barrier that is a soft knit fabric backed with ultra-thin breathable, waterproof polyurethane membrane. Specially designed patented safety stay-on corners and extra-deep sides keep this mattress pad in place at all times, no matter how thick the mattress. You can never have too many mattress pads, so keep several in your linen closet. It is sized to allow for shrinkage and the full skirt is designed for a snug fit. Machine wash and dry. The OE Blended Standard applies to products that use a blend of organic and non‐organic cotton or other fibers, and contain a minimum of 5% organic cotton. The OE Blended requires that the organic cotton is grown on certified farms and sets criteria for proper handling and tracking of the organic cotton through all steps of textile processing.

This product is NOT organic! Why? Because it is NOT made of 100% organic materials! This company appraently wanted to jump on the $$$ ORGANIC BANDWAGON $$$ but didn't particularly care whether their product adhered to organic labeling standards.
Note to organic consumers: always read the product description and, when in doubt, ask questions! Most companies that carry organic goods are of sound integrity. But some are ignorant about organic products, while still others truly intend to deceive the consumer. In the case of this mattress pad, I have to assume the latter, since they labeled their product as "Organic Cotton Waterproof Crib Mattress Pad," when it is clearly not! Yes, the cotton may be 100% organic, but the mattress pad, as a whole is not, as there's no such thing as an organic petro-chemical polyurethane membrane.
There are many in the organic bedding industry who would call this mattress pad toxic!
This type of misleading product description really irriates me. Particularly so, when the product is being peddled for babies. The issue of toxic vs. non-toxic bedding for children is a serious one, and I think this company should be driven out of town on a rail for trying to pull this polyurethane membrane over the eyes of new parents, who simply endeavor to buy organic (non-toxic) bedding for their baby.
For a true 100% organic mattress pad, you'll have to pay double or triple the cost of this pad. It will be made of organic cotton fabric AND organic cotton batting, with zero non-organic components. For an organic waterproof pad, the only choice is one made with organic wool. There are many reputable companies on the internet that offer genuinely organic bedding products for babies and children. The Priva Snoozy people are not among them.

The mattress pad barely fit my baby's crib mattress after I washed it according to the instructions. I have to constantly yank it down around the mattress edges and am afraid it will come off and surround my baby while he's asleep. Also, like another reviewer stated, only the cotton is organic in this mattress pad. The backing is basically plastic which is a petroleum product.
