We purchased this for our 4month old. We could barely squeeze his foot into the foot-area booty (w/ substantial effort... and he was cooperating). The closure seemed functional, as functional as any plastic clasp on an elastic band could be. However, some of the white material was sticking out of the black boot; a nit-picky complaint but valid none-the-less.
They seem like they'd be warm. But instead of ordering a medium, we ordered another type of boot with a flexible, water-proof bottom in case he felt like standing in the snow. Also, the matching gloves would not be available until after we needed them.

I can't use these booties for my son as the toggle that is supposed to allow you to pull the elastic tight around the ankle does not hold the elastic at all. It just slides loose again really easily. I will be trying to return them. Very disappointing because my 10 month old son has wide feet and I can't find wide width winter boots. I thought these could be the answer.
