Most waterproof mattress pads feel like stiff vinyl. This quilted pad is very soft and cozy and not at all stiff. It's hard to believe it's waterproof, but it is!

The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because the waterproof backing started to get tears in it after normal washing and drying. After I switched to delicate the tears didn't get any worse, but I expected these to last longer.

Our Circo brand waterproof pads from Target were nowhere near as plush and cozy, but they lasted from birth to age 3 in a toddler bed with no tears, still 100% waterproof.

Be sure you want to buy the flat pad without elastic sides. I use a fitted waterproof pad for the first layer, then a crib sheet, then one of these flat pads, then another crib sheet, and so on. So if you have to do a middle of the night change, you just whip off the top layer and a fresh dry layer is ready to go!

i think this is a good protector for a baby crib but if ur looking for something for ur toddlers bed buy a fitted one this doent stay in place under sheet with an active toddler.
