The Philips AVENT fast flow nipple is made of soft silicone and offers a faster flow for older babies. The naturally shaped nipple makes it easier to transition from breast and bottle feeding and the anti-colic valve promotes active feeding and reduces fussiness and colic with less air in baby's tummy.
Made of silicone, the Avent Nipple feels softer and more natural than conventional rubber nipples, yet holds up much better to repeated washing and heat. The laser-cut holes do not change in size over time and precisely regulate the flow of liquid at every feeding. Features the patented anti-vacuum valve. Includes two Fast-Flow Nipples with four laser-cut holes.

my son was a very fussy bottle eater. He would never finish his bottle until I switched to a faster flow nipple. Now he finishes his bottle and is a much happier eater. He became frustrated that the milk wasn't coming out fast enough for him and with the faster flow it was perfect. He is much more content after a feeding and more relaxed. Now we are both much happier and look forward to each feeding.

I love Avent because their wide bottles are okay for breastfed babies. My baby is mixed fed, breastfed after office hours and formula fed when I'm at work. Anyways, the nipples are well made but I made the mistake of getting the fast flow one for my 6 month old, well, it is FAST and she had a hard time keeping up with the flow so I your baby is breast/mixed fed, use the fast flow around 1 year of age.
