My wife and I tried several different types of bottles before settling on the Dr. Brown's wide-mouth. The Dr. Brown's bottles use the best system for reducing the build-up of vacuum pressure (and thus bubbles) in the bottle and we feel like they significantly reduced our baby's gas. However, the bottles consist of several extra pieces that require extra cleaning with special brushes, so over the long-run we have probably spent a lot more time cleaning bottles than we would have if we had purchased more conventional type bottles. In our case we think the extra time is worth it.

I purchased these with the hope that they would help my newborn with gassiness but my hopes weren't too high. We had tried everything with no success, until these came. I can't stress enough just how much i love these bottles. She is now 3 months old and 9 times out of 10 she burps as i'm lifting her to my shoulder to burp her! We switched back to a normal bottle just for a feeding to see if it was a coincidence and the difference was unbelievable. She had terrible problems burping for 2 hours afterwards.
There are a lot of pieces to clean and it's a bit more work because you have to use their little brush to get into the small spaces, and you really can't skip it because it will build up with gunk pretty quickly, but it's worth every second of the extra cleaning time to have my baby gas free. These bottles are a miracle!
